Our campervan packages are all about the freedom of the road, and they don't include pre-booked accommodations.
You'll have the wonderful opportunity to choose your own campgrounds or perfect spots to park each night (which we highly recommend you do in advance).

Drive time: 4 hours 30 mins (332.0 km) via SH 1
You’ll start your journey in Christchurch (the garden City) with the chance to explore the Botanic Gardens in the morning. Then head to Kaikoura, taking in the scenic Coastal Pacific Drive. Keep an eye out for the seal colonies nestled on the rocks!
In “Kaikoura” (meaning eat crayfish), you have the chance to go whale watching or swim with dolphins.
Continue driving to Marlborough - NZ’s wine country, with breathtaking rolling vineyards either side of your campervan. You can also drive to Rarangi Beach for a relaxing coastal break.
Reach your final destination, Marlborough, in the evening. Take a stroll in the Wairau Lagoons area before finding a suitable spot to park your campervan for the night.
Top tip: If spending a day exploring vineyards excites you we highly recommend spending an extra night here to explore.

Driving Time: 3 hours (178 km) via State Hwy 6
Depart from Marlborough and head northwest on State Highway 6.
Enjoy a scenic drive through Havelock, known for its green-lipped mussels and grab a coffee from a local cafe.
Continue towards Nelson, exploring the city's vibrant arts and crafts scene. Perhaps a spot of lunch too!
You’ll then carry on State Highway 6 towards Motueka, passing through picturesque landscapes - charge your devices before checking out Kaiteriteri beach (one of the best)!
Arrive in Marahau at the entrance to Abel Tasman National Park.
Spend the afternoon exploring the stunning coastal scenery or relaxing on the beaches.

Driving time: 1 hour 30 mins (76.8 km) via State Hwy 60
Discover the twelve golden beaches in the Astrolabe area, known for the highest concentration of sandy beaches in Abel Tasman on your kayak adventure!
The highlight of this trip is visiting Adele Island sanctuary, home to an array of protected native birds and a popular hang out for NZ fur seals. Experience the cacophony of bird sound that is unique to the Island.
Take a small trip to the sacred Te Waikoropupu Springs - not to be missed! Experience New Zealand's largest freshwater springs and the largest coldwater springs in the southern hemisphere, with some of the clearest water ever measured!
You’ll then journey to the breathtaking “Golden Bay”. Arrive in Takaka, the main town in Golden Bay. Explore the local markets, and stroll through the town's eclectic shops before finding a campervan spot for the night.

Driving time: 5 hours (322 km) via State Hwy 6
This morning you can drive through Buller Gorge, offering stunning views and the iconic Buller Gorge Swing Bridge. You’ll then self drive to Westport for a spot of lunch. Explore the town and its attractions, such as Cape Foulwind Seal Colony or the Coaltown Museum.
This afternoon you’ll drive to Punakaiki south on State Highway 6 enjoying the scenic drive along the rugged West Coast.
At Punakaiki you can check out the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. Take a stroll along the well-maintained walkways to witness the unique limestone formations and the impressive blowholes during sunset.

Driving time: 3 hours (222 km) via State Hwy 6
This morning you can drive south to Greymouth, a town along the west coast. Continue south to Hokitika, known for its greenstone (Pounamu) and artisan shops. Take a stroll along the beach or visit the Hokitika Gorge for a refreshing detour if time allows.
If you have an interest in history, you can make a short stop in Ross to explore remnants of the gold mining era.
You’ll continue your driving journey towards Franz Josef Glacier - one of only three glaciers in the world to be surrounded by rainforest!
Arrive in the late afternoon and explore the town or perhaps relax in the Glacier Hot Pools.
We highly recommend taking a scenic Glacier Heli ride (tomorrow morning) and landing on Franz Josef Glacier itself - ask us for more information!
Enjoy dinner in Franz Josef, exploring local restaurants or preparing a meal in your campervan.

Driving time: 4 hours (287 km) via State Hwy 6
This morning you will have the chance to take a glacier helicopter landing tour to the top of Franz Josef Glacier - one of the best trips NZ has to offer!
This afternoon you can drive to Fox Glacier, located just a short distance from Franz Josef and take a walk to the Fox Glacier viewpoint.
You’ll pass through the breathtaking Haast Pass. Stop at Thunder Creek Falls, Fantail Falls, and Roaring Billy Falls for short walks and photo opportunities.
Continue your drive to Makarora, a small settlement surrounded by mountains and lakes. Take a break and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
As you approach Wanaka, make a stop at Lake Hawea and take a dip in the crystal clear waters (if you’re brave enough) - it is cold! The lake offers stunning views and a peaceful setting.
Arrive in Wanaka in the late afternoon. Explore the iconic Wanaka Tree and take a leisurely stroll along the lakefront. You’ll find the perfect spot for dinner.

Today offers the opportunity to explore Wanaka, a picturesque lakeside town.
Choose from various activities such as a walk to a panoramic lookout with stunning views of Lake Wanaka, Mount Aspiring National Park, and the Clutha River.
Alternatively, visit Puzzling World (mind you do not get lost in the maze), go kayaking on the lake, explore the Warbirds and Classic Cars Museum, or try fishing for brown or rainbow trout.
For the adventurous, consider hiking to the majestic Rob Roy Glacier or conquering Roy's Peak. In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise to Mou Waho, the most remote and beautiful of Lake Wanaka's five islands. This island features a steep rocky coastline, secluded beaches, diverse birdlife, and a hidden lake called Arethusa Pool. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, embark on a two-hour island walk to learn about the region's geology, history, flora, fauna, and local culture.

Driving time: 3 hours (227 km) via State Hwy 6 and State Hwy 94
This morning you can drive towards Queenstown via the scenic Crown Range Road - stop off at the Cardrona Hotel for a beverage! This route offers breathtaking views of the Southern Alps, so take your time to appreciate the landscapes and perhaps make a stop at the Crown Range Summit.
Drive slow and be careful - the road is very windy.
While the bustling resort town of Queenstown offers numerous activities, for this quick itinerary, you might want to take a brief stroll along the Queenstown Gardens or grab a coffee at one of the lakeside cafes. Don’t worry - you will have time to explore Queenstown on your way back from Milford Sound further into the itinerary.
Continue your road trip towards Te Anau via the Devils Staircase and take, this scenic road at ease.
Make a stop at Kingston. The Kingston Flyer, a vintage steam train, is a notable attraction. Alternatively, enjoy the lakeside views and stretch your legs.
Arrive in Te Anau and spend some time by the shores. The town offers a tranquil setting, and you can take a leisurely walk along the lakefront.
Today, you will take a guided tour to the Te Anau Glowworm Caves to witness the magical glowworm display in underground caves. Twinkling glowworms that light up these caves are simply magical. You’ll also take a short cruise to access the caves - all included in our campervan package.

Driving time: 4 hours (return) (240 km) via State Hwy 94
Set off early today and get ready for a New Zealand landscape gem! The Te Anau to Milford Sound drive stands out as one of the world's most spectacular routes, a definite highlight on any New Zealand tour.
Along the way, marvel at stunning valleys, breathtaking mountains, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the playful Kea, New Zealand's mountain parrot.
This morning, immerse yourself in the fjords' beauty during a 1 hour and 45-minute cruise, featuring pristine waterfalls and towering mountains meeting the Tasman Sea (included activity).
Keep an eye out for dolphins, seals, and the distinctive Fiordland crested Penguin before returning to Te Anau for the night.

Driving time: 2 hr 3 min (171 km) via State Hwy 94 and State Hwy 6
Begin your day by driving from Te Anau to Mossburn. Enjoy the scenic drive and consider a brief stop in Mossburn to stretch your legs.
Continue your road trip to Kingston, perhaps take a stroll along the shore of Lake Wakatipu and capture some photos of the Remarkables mountain range.
Head to Arrowtown, a charming historic village. Spend some time wandering through the streets, explore the Chinese Village, and perhaps grab lunch at one of the local cafes. You can even try some authentic gold panning here!
Finally, self drive to Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand. Explore the town and take a gondola ride for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Today you can hop on a thrilling jet boat ride that enters both the Kawarau river and the Shotover - buckle up for those 360 spins!
Today you could take an incredible scenic drive to Glenorchy, situated at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu. The drive itself offers breathtaking views, and Glenorchy is a picturesque village surrounded by mountains and lakes.
Another option, if you don't want to take the gondola to Skyline Queenstown, you can still get stunning views from Bob's Peak. The viewpoint is accessible by a short hike and provides an excellent vantage point of the town and lake.
How about lunch at Fergburger – a Queenstown institution famous for its gourmet burgers. Expect long lines, but the delicious burgers are worth the wait.
Consider taking a scenic cruise on Lake Wakatipu. Various operators offer boat trips with informative commentary about the region. You can also explore options for jet boating or kayaking on the lake.

Today, your journey takes you out of Central Otago via the Kawarau Gorge and Cromwell. Along the way, consider a detour to a local fruit shop to savor authentic fruit ice cream and perhaps sample renowned New Zealand manuka honey products.
Afterward, traverse the Lindis Pass to enter the Mackenzie Country, where you'll be treated to the breathtaking sight of the turquoise Lake Pukaki.

Today you will self drive towards Lake Pukaki, known for its unbelievable turquoise waters and capture photos of Mount Cook in the backdrop.
Stop at the Tasman Glacier Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Tasman Glacier and its terminal lake. This spot provides a unique perspective on the glacial landscape.
You’ll continue your road trip to Lake Tekapo. The drive itself offers picturesque views of the Southern Alps and open landscapes.
Explore the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd located on the shores of Lake Tekapo. A stunning photo op, especially if the wild lupins are out in season!
